While the Economic Anti-Corruption Commission (EFCC) is intensifying its efforts to rig the 2023 elections, a special team of the commission attacked Jigawa state and arrested the former commissioner for local government affairs, Hon. Aminu Ahmed Kanta caraf.
Kanta has held the position of Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Commissioner for Lands and Planning and Special Adviser on Political Affairs during the administration of the incumbent Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar at different times.
The former Commissioner, who was picked up on Monday, was taken to Abuja for questioning.
Kanta, who is politically close to Governor Badaru, is currently the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Garki/Babura Federal Constituency in the state in the upcoming 2023 election.
Even though the reasons why the anti-corruption commission arrested him have not yet been found, but this will not be related to his leadership in the office and his relationship with some politicians in the state.
