AFTER WARM, Nigerian Army Killed ISWAP Commanders Ali Kwaya and Bukar Mainoka

The Nigerian Air Force has said that at least 98 fighters, including two leaders of the Islamic State in West Africa (ISWAP), were killed in the attacks in the North-East region of the country.

Ali Kwaya and Bukar Mainoka, ISWAP’s top advisers, met their deaths in Belowa, one of the remaining areas in the Lake Chad region controlled by ISWAP.

Aerial attacks were also carried out in Ngwuri Gana town of Borno state, where 15 trucks were destroyed and many ISWAP fighters were killed.

Does the recent killings mean that the Nigerian army can deal with the Islamist insurgency without foreign aid?
